The Importance of Hydration

Experts have recommended that drinking half of your body weight is crucial to maintain good health. Not all water consumption has to come directly from water itself. There are other forms of hydrating such as water flavored with fruit or vegetables (lemons, berries, oranges or cucumber slices) or from coffee or tea.

Drinking enough water each day is crucial in maintaining body temperature in hot weather. It also keeps the joints lubricated, prevents infections, delivers nutrients to the cells and keeps organs functioning properly.

Being well hydrated also improves your quality of sleep, comprehension and mood. It is best to stay away from processed or artificially sweetened sugary drinks as they take a toll on the bodily organs and adds stress to the system.
